Using Search on Helium

There are lots of places to use Search, and lots of reasons to use it, too. Find the primary search field at the very top right-hand corner of most pages. Use Search to find:

  • Article titles: Search for a specific title. (Example: How to recover from a broken heart)
  • Article content: Search for a quote or phrase. (Example: heart was made to be broken)
  • Keywords: Search keywords related to titles and or articles. (Example: broken heart, love, breakup)
  • Pen names: Search for your favorite Helium writer by pen name. (Example: Don Juan)

You can also use the Title Finder search feature, which is found on the “Write” tab in the top navigation bar. This will allow you to truly focus in on your title search.

Search. Don’t sob.

Advanced search

If you don’t find what you’re looking for, try “Advanced Search.”

Here’s how it works:

  1. Search for topical information using one of the three boxes: “With all these words,” “Exact phrase” or “With at least one of the words.”
  2. Use the dropdown box to determine the number of results per page.
  3. Now you can determine the type of title you’re looking for.
  4. You can choose between all articles or only a Debate title.
  5. You can also choose to look in any channel on Helium by selecting it from the channel dropdown menu.
  6. Once you have made selections, click on “Search” and Helium will find the information you are looking for.
TIP: If you write to an existing title, your article will be published right away. If you suggest a new title and we find it already exists, your suggestion will not be accepted and we’ll send you a link to the title that already exists. So it pays to search.
