Vetting a potential Channel Manager

Channel Manager vetting and approval process

Please follow this process for determining Channel Manager candidacy:

A Channel Manager who is interested in bringing a new Channel Manager onto their team should perform the first step. (NOTE: When discussing what’s required for new Channel Managers, please refer to the Channel Manager Mission & Expectations Guide.)

Step 1- Identification and orientation (Point person: Senior & Root Channel Managers)

  • Review About Me page for the following:
  1. Real-sounding and professional pen name
  2. Human photo (preferably a headshot)
  3. Professional bio with expertise in channel they want to manage.
  4. At least one rating and one writing star. (NOTE: This is discretionary based on quality of articles and if member has written many 1 of 1’s.)
  5. At least 20 articles, with a good proportion written in area of interest.
  6. At least 10 articles in channel of interest or expertise. (NOTE: This number is discretionary, based on quality of articles.)
  7. Review of sample of articles for plagiarism.
  8. Senior Channel Manager checks for history of User Agreement violations.
  9. Check history of forums posts to ensure potential Channel Manager has a friendly and supportive tone with members.
