Helium now offers members the option to receive SMS notifications about new available assignments.

A member now has the option to receive text message alerts about new assignments that have been uploaded to the assignment system for groups he or she is a member of.

To subscribe to receive SMS notifications about new assignments, visit the Account Settings page (accessible through My Helium and My Account). On the Account Settings page, click the Notifications tab to the right.

In the fields available, enter the Mobile Number, select the country your phone is registered to and select your Mobile Carrier. After entering this information, click “Submit.”

A confirmation will appear at the top of the screen indicating an activation notification has been sent. An Activation Code box will appear in the Notifications tab. Enter the code you received via text message into this field.

Members can select which writing group assignments to be notified about. In the box to the left, all groups with two or more members that a member belongs to will be listed. The box to the right shows all groups a member has selected to receive notifications for.

To select groups to receive assignment notifications for, click on one or more group names and the “Add Selected” button to move them into the box to the right. To stop receiving notifications for groups assignments, simply move them back to the box to the left.

Be sure to click the “Submit” button to commit the changes.
